ABOUT AOIFE O'KELLY

 

 

Aoife O'Kelly is an Irish writer/director, based in London. She has worked in TV and film production for almost a decade, working with companies such as RTÉ, Blinder Films, October Films and Discovery ID.


Having studied English literature and Psychology, Aoife went on to complete her MA in Directing Fiction at Goldsmith's University, London.  Her graduation short film Lulagained a series of awards and nominations at national and international festivals. (see press page) 

Since graduating, Aoife has been freelancing as a multi-skilled creative in London, mainly working as a director, story producer or edit producer in both TV and Film.

She made her first feature film, Walking with Shadows in collaboration with The Initiative for Equal Rights in Lagos, Nigeria. The film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival 2019 and was nominated for outstanding first feature at the Frameline San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival 2021.

 

Aoife was also selected for the 2019 X-pollinator scheme in Dublin, a groundbreaking new initiative to recognise creative Irish talent and support women's careers

in the screen industry in Ireland and the UK. 

 

Aoife's goal for every project is to use striking visuals to convey truthful and unusual humanistic stories.
